Jeddah Airport Gate GRC

Jeddah Gate Project is one of the landmark developments distinguished by its engineering value and refined artistic expression, ultimately emerging as an iconic urban gateway at the entrance of the city of Jeddah. The structure consists of a steel structural framework clad with GRC panels, selected for their lightweight properties and their flexibility in forming graduated and interwoven arches. This layered repetition created visual depth, clarity, and a sense of grandeur, further emphasized by the subtle reveal of the steel structure within the spatial void behind. The design reinterprets the Islamic arch and the Najdi–Hijazi architectural character through a contemporary lens. Vertical lines enhance the perception of height and dignity, while the unified color palette, lighting strategy, and layered gradation generate an upward visual movement—from ground to sky—establishing a formal civic gateway. The result is a distinctive architectural identity and a true landmark that offers a powerful first impression of Jeddah as a city with a clear and confident architectural presence.
